 Wind Farm Anodes

Wind farm substructures (tripod, monopile or jacket type) are protected against corrosion by heavy weight anodes that drive a current output of several amperes to the surface of the structure, and can range in length from 1 to 3 meters. Due to the extended design operational period of these anodes (>15 years), their weight can vary significantly from 75kg up to 500kg per anode, and the tubular seamless pipes that are used as steel inserts for the anodes can vary from 63mm up to 114mm in diameter.
Wind farm anodes are stand-off types of anodes usually installed around the substructure in order to provide enough current for the protection of the steel jackets located in shallow waters.
The following type of anodes is suggested for applications in the wind farm industry.
